How Engaged Research Contributes to Academic Promotion

CBPR Engaged Research is a transformative approach that addresses real community-identified needs and challenges.

Research Impact: CBPR emphasizes the importance of academics partnering with communities during the research journey. This enhances the relevance of the study and its potential impact.

Community partnerships: CBPR encourages researchers to build meaningful and authentic partnerships. This promotes trust between the academic and the community and reinforces the academic's position as a respected and trusted advocate for positive change in the community.

Inter/multi/trans-disciplinary research collaboration: CBPR involves interdisciplinary/multi/trans-disciplinary collaboration, providing a platform for academics to broaden their networks and perspectives, leading to more comprehensive, relevant and innovative solutions to addressing societal challenges.

Professional and personal development: CBPR enhances critical skills valued in academia and beyond, including effective communication, building, nurturing and sustaining community university partnerships, community involvement, project management, and inter/multi/trans-disciplinary collaboration.
