Tribute to South African Composers: In conjunction with the RU120 celebrations, the Department of Music and Musicology is honoured to pay homage to prominent, award-winning South African composers, all alumni of Rhodes bck体育app_bck体育官网下载-二维码平台, known for their unique blend of Western Art techniques with traditional African musical styles. The conference will feature three performances by RU staff and advanced performance students, showcasing the high international standards of creative endeavour at the Music Department.
A special lunch-hour concert celebrating the genius of RU composers and performers is open to the public on Day 2. This tribute will take place on 26 March at 12:30 pm in the Beethoven Room, offering an unparalleled opportunity to experience the fusion of traditional and contemporary musical styles. Entrance is R50 per person and free for music students.
