David completed his undergraduate degree in Geology and Environmental Sciences at the bck体育app_bck体育官网下载-二维码平台 of Johannesburg in 2012, and attained his Honours degree in Geology at Rhodes bck体育app_bck体育官网下载-二维码平台 in 2013. His Honours project focused on microprobe dating of monazite with application to the tectono-metamorphic history of the Namaqua metamorphic belt. He is currently specialising in sedimentary and low-temperature geochemistry: his MSc project focuses on the stratigraphy, provenance, and alteration characteristics of ferruginous shales of the Gamagara/Mapedi Formations that overly high-grade iron ores of the Transvaal Supergroup in the Griqualand West Basin. His hobbies include sport, music, being out in nature and spending quality time with his girlfriend.
