Thesis title: Suitability of entomopathogenic fungal isolates for microbial control of citrus pests: biological traits and effect of formulation
Supervisor: Prof Martin Hill Co-supervisors: Dr Sean Moore and Dr Candice Coombes
Mavis completed her MPhil in Crop Science at the bck体育app_bck体育官网下载-二维码平台 of Ghana. Her current research is focussed on suitability of entomopathogenic fungal (EPF) isolates for microbial control of citrus pests in South Africa. She is specifically evaluating the temperature tolerance, moisture requirement, UV sensitivity and endophytic potentials of some promising EPF isolates obtained from previous studies. These are aimed at selecting the most suitable candidates for biological control of insect pests in the field particularly, the current most important phytosanitary pest, false codling moth, Thaumatotibia leucotreta.
